|Drug Name and Strength||Inactivated Bordetella bronchiseptica antigen, inactivated canine parainfluenza virus, aluminium hyroxide (as adjuvant)|
|Indication||Active immunisation of dogs against Bordetella bronchiseptica and canine parainfluenza virus.|
|Contraindications||Administration to dogs receiving corticosteroid treatment and pregnant bitches.|
|Actions||An inactivated canine vaccine. The addition of the adjuvant enhances the response to vaccination and increases the duration of immunity. Vaccinal immunity following administration is predominantly, but not exclusively, a systemic antibody response with limited cell mediated immunity.|
|Precautions||Only healthy dogs with normal temperatures should be vaccinated. Because tracheobronchitis can be due to many different agents (multifactorial disease), prevention of all cases can be difficult when using this vaccine only. Vaccines containing other antigens might be necessary.|
|Dosage and Administration||Note: the removable label should only be removed after the dose has been given. Companion KC Vaccine is suitable for use as a diluent with Companion C3.Recommended vaccination program. In normal circumstances. Primary vaccination: in dogs ≥ 6 weeks of age, two doses of vaccine at an interval of one month, injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Booster vaccinations: annual booster vaccinations are recommended.Due to the interference of maternal antibodies with active immunisation, protection of young puppies can be difficult, especially in infected kennels. Epidemiological conditions and likely persistence of maternal antibodies (e.g. antibody titres of the mother, age of weaning) can thus influence the individual response of any given puppy. Dogs at severe infectious risk. Susceptible puppies may benefit from an early start of the vaccination program (6 weeks of age). Vaccination at two to three week intervals through until 16 weeks of age may also be appropriate in high risk situations.|
|Storage||Store between 2 and 8°C. (Refrigerate. Do not freeze.) Protect from light.|
