|Drug Name and Strength||Live attenuated canine distemper virus, live attenuated canine adenovirus type 2 (infectious hepatitis), live attenuated canine parvovirus|
|Indication||Vaccination of dogs against canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis and parvovirus, and reduction of shedding of parvovirus.|
|Actions||Vaccination and challenge trials have demonstrated the efficacy of this vaccine against canine distemper, canine hepatitis and parvovirus infections in dogs.|
|Precautions||Vaccinate only healthy dogs with normal temperatures. Do not vaccinate dogs with a compromised immune status or receiving immunosuppressive drugs. Do not vaccinate pregnant bitches.|
|Dosage and Administration||Do not use chemicals to disinfect the skin, needles or syringes before vaccination as this could inactivate the viruses. Use immediately after reconstitution with 1 mL of a suitable diluent (i.e. Water for Injections BP or Canigen KC) transferred aseptically.Vaccination programs. Primary vaccination, puppies from 8 weeks. Inject subcutaneously or intramuscularly one dose of vaccine at 8 weeks and one dose at 12 weeks. In normal circumstances, two doses are sufficient to ensure protective immunisation in puppies from 8 weeks of age. Primary vaccination, dogs over 12 weeks. Inject subcutaneously or intramuscularly one dose of vaccine. In normal circumstances, one dose is sufficient to ensure protective immunisation in puppies at or over 12 weeks of age.In situations where high maternal antibody and potential challenge is possible, an additional vaccination should be considered at 16 weeks of age. Vaccination in adult dogs. Inject subcutaneously or intramuscularly one dose of vaccine. An annual booster is recommended.This product has been assessed as providing at least 12 months' protection. Many factors influence the effectiveness of vaccination and the need for revaccination. The vaccination for an individual animal should be determined within the veterinarian, client and animal relationship, taking all these factors into account.|
